5 Fall Essentials – Fashionable Friday

5 Fall Essentials - Happy Fall Y'all! www.ruckusandrubies.com

On this Fashionable Friday, I thought I’d share with you 5 fall essentials.  This is a list of 5 of my favorite things I just simply cannot live without during this fall season!

Lauren Conrad Riding Boots – These are my very favorite pair of fall shoes! They are comfortable, stylish, and practical.  These are absolutely essential to any fall wardrobe!  They can be worn at work with your favorite skirt or at play when you go out on the town on Friday night.

12 mm 14k Gold Ball Earrings with hooks – These earrings are one of my very favorite classic pieces of jewelry and can be worn dressy or casual.  I love these because they are easy to see whether your hair is up or down. They add a touch of elegance to any outfit.

I simply LOVE my red wool coat.  It adds a dramatic pop of color.  Every girl needs red accessories!

This lovely, spicy, floral scent has been around a while, but it is still one of my favorites.  I receive loads of positive comments when I wear it.  It smells SO very good!

I simply CANNOT live without Trim Healthy Mama. My life is changed for the better!  I’ll never go back to eating junk.  I can’t wait to try some of these new recipes and take them to all of the upcoming holiday events.

Fall Fashion Layering – Fashionable Friday

It’s unseasonably like fall here in SC.  I say “unseasonably” because here in the southeast it doesn’t begin to cool down for at least another month or so.  However, it has been considerably mild and much more like fall in the earlier hours of the day.  This southern belle adores fall so this is my kind of weather.  However, it does make it difficult to dress for the weather.  On days like this, we need to dress in layers.  Layering is great if you have good foundation pieces. It’s a smart idea to invest in some nice tanks with wider straps that can be worn alone in case it’s hot outside.  You can where foundation pieces by themselves for one look and then add accents and accessories like sweaters to make a whole new outfit.

Layers are great because you can begin your day dressed in warmer clothes for that crisp morning air.  As the day progresses and the sun brings warmth, you can remove a layer or two and still be comfortable.

Fall colors are lovely too!  This year expect to see colors like rose, mauve, yellow, royal blue, and majestic green.  I gravitate toward jewel tones so I am going to be loving the colors this season!

To create a great layered look, choose a nice tank that has just a little bit of interest, like this one which has an eyelet lace neckline.  I’m a sucker for lace!  This tank is great because the detail is at the neckline which draws the eye up to the face.

Next choose a cardigan in a color that coordinates well with the tank.  DSCN2807

The last thing to do is layer on the accessories.  You could wear a combination of necklaces, bracelets or earrings.  You could also wear a scarf if you don’t have any detail on your tank at the neckline.  Accessories can mix match but they can also match in the case of these two leopard print items: the shoes and bracelet.
