Our country doesn’t need Hillary Clinton. Our country doesn’t need Donald Trump. Our country doesn’t need Barack Obama, or any other candidate. Our country doesn’t need revenge or justice in the world’s eyes. Hope and justice don’t lie with them or any ideology from any political party.
It’s just like we studied in church Sunday–we can change circumstances all day long, but it won’t help matters. You can throw money at hundreds of causes, but if the hearts of the recipients aren’t right then they will blow the money and the cause is lost.
We have to change the HEARTS of people. Our hope is in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Until people get that through their thick skulls, things are not going to change. In fact, they will only going to get worse. I know we are supposed to pray Jesus tarries so many more can be saved, but I think we are all growing weary and are ready for His return. Please be sure you are ready!
John 3:16-“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” REMEMBER, belief = action. It is not just an intellectual knowledge of Jesus for even satan believes Jesus is the Son of God. It is surrendering of your life to His Lordship every single day and having a personal relationship with Him.
Matthew 7:21-23-“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
Acts 4:12-“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Titus 2:11-“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”
And be sure you are doing your part to get others ready for Jesus. This is not a suggestion, or an invitation, this is a COMMANDMENT!
Matthew 28:19-20-“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 and teachingthem to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with youalways, to the very end of the age.”
Let’s plant some seeds so The Lord Jesus can change some hearts! READY, SET, GO!
Do you think we will have to answer to God for whom we vote in the next election? Do you believe God even cares about the election? These are some questions I’ve been hearing often lately.
It doesn’t take much time or investigation into the God’s Word to find the answers:
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
This one verse sums up so very much. God’s Word commands us to seek FIRST the righteousness of God. Therefore, in choosing for whom to vote, we are commanded to seek a righteous candidate.
What does righteous mean? God’s people are righteous when they are in a right relation with Him, when they enjoy His salvation; when they humbly admit their dependence upon God. They are considered by God as the Judge of the world as righteous when they are being and doing what he requires in His Word.
That is when inspecting fruit comes in–there is a difference between condemning, judging, and inspecting the fruit of ones life. We must research and study the life of a candidate to see what types of fruit they have produced for God’s kingdom.
We should also pray and ask The Lord for help in choosing a candidate. Many will tickle the ears of the people and say whatever they want to get elected.
Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Matthew 7:15
For these reasons, it is not easy to choose a candidate. We shouldn’t just jump on the popular candidate bandwagon. We must do our homework, pray, and seek God’s direction.
What if there are no worthy candidates? Well, that’s when even more prayer is needed. We must ask God specifically to lead us to the right candidate and to let us know if we should even vote at all.
Please, don’t fuss at me–I’ve been scolded by so many for this attitude, but at the end of the day I will answer to God for my vote. Many people believe if they don’t vote for the “lesser of the evils” then that gives more votes to the “evil” one. Not so. I believe God’s Word. He said if we seek Him first, He’ll take care of the rest. He said it, I believe it, enough said! Now, let us live what we believe!
So as we approach the 2016 election, please think and pray fervently. Don’t settle. Don’t give your vote to an unworthy candidate, especially one who does not bear the fruit of the Spirit.
We want to be able to stand before God and hear Him say he approves of our decision.
When you have a blog post to write, it’s not good to be at a loss for words. That is how I feel this week. It’s not a case of writer’s block. It’s not a lack of events of life from which to draw–as a wife and mommy, my life is busy and full. As a Christian, there should always be something God is teaching me that I could share with others. But, I am still struggling with the words today… To understand why I’m struggling, click here to read the rest of my post at Raising Homemakers.
Gardening takes an abundance of hard work and dedication. It’s cultivating soil, planting, watering, weeding, careful tending. I’m working on a special kind of garden these days…
In many ways, my blog is like a garden. Writing a blog is one way I try to plant seeds of love and encourage to others. I enjoy sharing facts, opinions, ideas, details, and truths through writing. I believe God started me down this blogging path as a tool for His glory and the good of others.
Those who truly know and love me will tell you that my heart is to encourage others and to glorify The Lord. There are times, however, when I have to approach some of those nasty, choking weeds of untruth. Today is one of those days…
I just get frustrated with this world and the way it treats My Lord. I know many people believe Christians should just sit down and be doormats without expressing their beliefs, thoughts, or frustrations. It’s usually the same people who believe in all of that old “Dr. Spock” express your feelings, don’t hurt the psyche psychological mumbo-jumbo which is completely contrary to the Bible. What they really mean is only express your feelings and opinions if they are the same as mine. We’ve seen how selfish society has become as result…
Well, I’m just going to give you a heads-up: as I mentioned previously today is probably not going to be one of those uplifting and encouraging posts. I am really feeling the need to stand up for Jesus against people who are trying to use Him for their political agendas.
I’ve seen a few popular articles and social media posts on how Jesus was a “liberal/socialist”. HA! I’ve also seen posts on how Jesus was a republican of sorts. Well I have news for you–He was neither of those! People should be ashamed of trying to equate Him to those parties or to even degrade Him down to their levels.
In today’s society you have republicans who are supposed to exhibit Christian Biblical principles and family values. For the most part the majority of republicans do just that, but then you have those who are lax in their conservatism. They are a terrible witness to God because they bend God’s Word to fit their own agenda. Then republicans preach all day long about how things are wrong, but then they don’t put their words into action. They have done nothing to stop the madness of sin in this nation. They defend our forefathers with their words, but it is just lip service.
I find it extremely odd that liberals will make fun of republicans for taking everything so strictly and seriously, but then in the next breath now they are faulting them for their lax and misguided decision to back Donald Trump. How hypocritical! (and conservatives are supposed to be the only Phariseees of today. If you ask me both parties fit that bill.)
You also have liberals who don’t hold strict to a Biblical worldview. They believe that people should be able to live their lives as they see fit, floundering to and fro with whichever way the wind blows this old world. They don’t believe the Bible is absolute truth, and they choose to ignore any convicting verses that discuss sin. They take one verse about judging (Matthew 7:1-2: “Don’t judge others, or you will be judged. 2 You will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the amount you give to others will be given to you.”) They take it out of context and say we are not supposed to even recognize whether something is right or wrong.
It is insulting and offensive that a lot of people believe Jesus was just a prophet and not Son of God. They also believe He was not sinless. Their whole political leg is wrapped up in not promoting Christianity and tearing it down. Yet, when they find one little string of His Word that they can distort or pull out of context for their agenda, all of a sudden they conveniently pull Him out of their little compartment and use Him. Then they shove Him back in when they are convicted of their own sin or don’t want to change their lives and give them to Him.
Then they choose to dissect and extract one or two verses from the Bible about the poor from the Bible and tell the whole world we are supposed to give all that we have. That’s the truth–we are supposed to give our lives and possessions to Jesus so that He is Lord over them. They skip that part and just talk of material possessions alone eliminating the spiritual nature of the verse. They also don’t do any of that themselves. They choose to state that only the rich are supposed to give up everything. The Bible says rich and poor alike are to give everything for God’s cause. Even the widow in the Bible who was poor gave everything she had to Jesus. Jesus didn’t have a problem with the fact that the others were rich. He had a problem with the state of their hearts. He said the widow was righteous because she gave all she had. I don’t see many on either side doing that, do you?
They brainwash people into thinking people who have are sinful. I know people who have more than I have but also give more than they keep. They sacrifice and God keeps blessing them with more. I also know people who have nothing and they continue to sit around and do nothing to help their situation. God gives them opportunities to be blessed and work, but they choose to continue to sit on their tails waiting for a handout.
Giving generously so that the government can indoctrinate our children, control our lives, control family size, force parents to enroll children in public schools, and compartmentalize or dissolve our faith is the way of the liberal, but it is not the way of the Bible.
The Bible is full of commands which both sides ignore like murder-abortion, God’s plan for families, lying, cheating, husbands leading families and wives submitting to authority, stealing what is not rightfully yours, coveting, adultery, the list goes on and on. And the Bible says ALL sins are against Him and are equal in His eyes. So someone’s “little white lie” is just as bad as someone’s greed.
Do you realize how many laws have been enacted by liberals and republicans alike which do NOT fall in line with God’s Word? Liberals are no more Christian than republicans and vice versa.
I am so glad Jesus was neither the definition of today’s typical liberal or conservative. Jesus spent time with sinners and loved them unconditionally. He NEVER once told them it was okay to live in sin. God hates sin. Jesus told them to go and sin no more. Liberals and republicans alike tell people it’s okay to be selfish putting self first by not giving, by murdering babies, letting filth come from their mouths, watching tv that is not pleasing to God, lying, stealing from those who have just because they have not, and a myriad of other sins. The hypocrisy is on both sides of the political spectrum.
How dare people write posts and articles attempting to compare my sweet Lord and Savior with any political party. Both are so far from God it is not even funny. There are people who claim to be Christians but don’t live the life of generosity, holiness and sacrifice which God calls them to.
As far as the results from the primaries, I’m disappointed to know that so many who claim to be Christians just tarnished the witness for Christ by voting for someone who clearly knows nothing about Christianity like Donald Trump, but I’m also disappointed in those who distort God’s Word and knowingly allow and make it easier for people to live a life that is going to put them in hell for all eternity.
I’m disappointed in the other side for spreading a love of money and greed that would encourage them to sell their souls to the devil in order to make decisions that make them “happy” or “feel good” or promise them they don’t have to pay for things they should be paying for as their personal responsibility.
Jesus cared about souls more than money and living for self. So should we. I also don’t believe we should associate ourselves with a political party or social group like feminists or any other title we know is not biblical. Do you understand my frustration?
Then I’ll post something in frustration and people think I’ve gone off the deep end. I haven’t jumped off a cliff. I’ve jumped into the arms of Jesus and joined God’s Army. I will not apologize for my faith, and I will follow God’s command to share it. One of the ways I accomplish this is through this blog. I pray the seeds I plant will flourish and grow through God’s powerful and loving cultivation. I want to be able to stand before Jesus and say that I tried my best to speak truth in love, that I tried to win souls for His Kingdom. How about you?
Recently, a friend of mine commented on the faithfulness of my oldest daughter. She is a full time college student studying youth ministry, works part time, and volunteers in the nursery, choir, children’s church, and youth departments of our church. This sweet friend wanted to encourage my daughter and let her know how much she appreciated the fact that she is at church every time the doors are open. If anyone has an excuse not to be there, it would be young people with busy schedules like my daughter.
My children want to be at church every opportunity they can get. They can’t stand missing church for illness or having church canceled for weather or holidays. I have to admit there are times when I am just too tired and too overwhelmed. I don’t want to go anywhere. I’d rather just crawl under the covers and hide. I say I’ll just worship, read my Bible, and pray at home, but I don’t. By skipping out on the message God has for me in His house, I’m telling God that what I want is more important. I don’t have time to accept his invitation.
In reality, I’m only kidding myself to believe staying home will do me any good. It is these times when I really need worship in His house the most. I should strive to be more like children who have a consuming fire and hunger for God.
I am so thankful The Lord has changed the course of the history of my family. My children are much closer to Him than I was as a child. My parents weren’t Christians and didn’t talk to me about God. My grandmother didn’t get saved until my early teens. God’s influence on my grandmother began a chain of events that changed eternity for generations. Thanks to The Lord, my grandmother was saved. I saw her faith and what God was doing for her. Through that wonderful influence, I got saved and so did my sweet husband.
Unfortunately, this change wasn’t immediate. I remember walking down a path contrary to God and His Word as a teenager and young adult many times. I had justifications, reasons, and excuses for all of my failures. I don’t think I took much responsibility for my choices back then.
Even as new parents, we allowed the world to press us into its mold. We let the pressures of being working parents prohibit us from being faithfully committed to church attendance and service. We still had time for work, children, shopping, running a household, friends, family, sports, television, but we didn’t have time for God.
All of those other things seemed to take precedence over church. I’m not sure why. I guess because we were slaves to the world’s way of thinking. We thought we had to skip church to be able to take care of everything else we had to do. We were overwhelmed physically and financially. It didn’t take long for The Lord to get ahold of our hearts. He reminded us that if we sought Him first and His righteousness, that He would take care of the rest.
He began giving us a hunger for the things of God. So we began stepping out in faith. We started tithing regularly. He provided more financially for us than we ever had by holding back our tithe.
We began attending church every time the doors were open. The days still consisted of 24 hours, but amazingly we had more time to do the things we needed to do. It was difficult because we had to alter the routine of our children. They were used to eating, playing, sleeping on a schedule, but on church days and nights those schedules were interrupted. We were worried about our children being irritable and unruly because they were grumpy, hungry, and out of sorts, but those fears never really came true.
The Lord took care of everything just like He promised He would. God has blessed us even more along the way by taking a stand against anything taking precedence over worship: Jobs, sports, recitals, etc. We have said no to all of them and our children are blessed, well-rounded, and close to The Lord.
Even when we go camping and there isn’t a church around for miles, we simply have devotions and church as a family. I know the world is getting further and further away from corporate worship. It breaks my heart. I know it breaks The Lord’s.
There are Christians all over the world who want to worship, but they can’t. Sacrificing their very lives, they worship in secret. We take that honor and privilege for granted. We should be ashamed of ourselves for allowing the world to press us into its mold. We let any and every circumstance interfere with our worship. When you get down to it, we are just making selfish excuses.
We need to be in His house. The Bible says in Hebrews 10:25: “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” God loves the church. We should love all of the things of God, because they are one. I’ve heard this analogy given many times. You can’t get married, occasionally go home to your spouse, and then expect your spouse to believe and know that you love them. It’s the same for God and His church. How can we say we love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength if we give Him lip service?
Worship is the very reason we exist, and we think nothing of pushing it aside. Nothing is more important! The Word says we will worship every second in Heaven for all eternity. If we don’t have the time or the hunger for worshipping The Lord now on earth, how do you think we’ll feel in Heaven (if our choices don’t keep us from getting there)?
