Faith in the Darkest Oceans of Trials

In this season of my life, I seem to be encountering trial after trial. Some go as quickly as they came. Others linger, the enemy’s attempt to strand me in the desert.

Thankfully, The Father continues to grasp my heart and soul. Despite my inclinations to give up and succumb, He continues to flood me with His love.

I awake to His light illuminating my space, pulling me up from the depths of these trials. Through the love of my life and precious children, He points out His generous and bountiful blessings to me.

From my back porch, His beautiful creation displays His power. Counting blessings and acknowledging my gratitude, I am reminded of His great faithfulness that has always carried me through.

Overwhelmed, I stretch my hands up towards the sky. The blue expanse imitates an ocean of water, an ocean of love that washes over me–living water. He never allows this ocean to run dry.

Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty! Psalm 93:4

He calls me to jump into an ocean of faith and love. Washing over me He renews my heart and spirit. He floods me with His living water as I splash in the refreshing waves of His affection.

But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. John 4:14

Darkness resides in the deepest parts of the earth’s ocean. There are times when we feel drowned by our trials in the depths and the power of the waves.

But, in the hearts in which God resides there is no darkness. His glorious light and presence surrounds us.

Even darkness is not dark to you and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to you. Psalm 139:12

Keep holding onto His hand, and allow Him to flood you with His gracious current that will carry you to the other side of your trials.
