I can’t take credit for this tip. It came from a friend of mine at a pool party we attended years ago. I was applying chemical free sunscreen to my twins’ faces and they were both scrunching up their faces and backing away as I tried to apply sunscreen quickly without getting it in their eyes.

My lovely friend passed me one of those blender makeup sponges. You know–the ones you us to apply your liquid foundation. She suggested I use it to apply the sunscreen and it worked like a charm.

Not only did it make it easier to apply sunscreen around sensitive areas like the eyes, but it was also much more gentle than my rubbing their little faces with my hands trying to get thick sunscreen to sink into their skin.

Of course my children are older now, but it still works for them and for myself. I’m stocking up on makeup sponges for the summer!
